Industrial Visit- Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Energy and Development (MGIRED), Bengaluru
On 31st December 2025, the Department of Applied Sciences organised an insightful industrial visit to the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Energy and Development (MGIRED), located in Jakkur, Bengaluru. The primary objective of this visit was to immerse students in the practical applications of renewable energy technologies, energy conservation techniques, and sustainable water management systems.
MGIRED, a renowned training and research institute, is dedicated to promoting awareness and innovation in rural energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, rainwater harvesting, environmental protection, and sustainable development across diverse communities including students, rural youth, and local stakeholders. Through engaging interactive sessions on solar energy, energy conservation, rainwater harvesting, and water management, students gained valuable exposure to real-world sustainable practices.
This experience significantly enriched their understanding, and the visit will serve as a strong foundation for future academic endeavours and professional growth in the domains of environmental sustainability and clean energy solutions.
