CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Industrial Visit- U R Rao Satellite Centre

On 12th June 2025, First Year B.E students from the Department of Applied Sciences visited URSC, ISRO’s premier Satellite Development Centre in Bengaluru. The visit offered a deep insight into India’s remarkable progress in space science and technology. We observed detailed satellite models and live demonstrations of satellite design and testing. The Remote Sensing Satellite exhibit showcased its role in weather forecasting, agriculture, and disaster management. The Gravity Well concept was explained clearly, helping us understand orbital forces. A highlight was the Augmented Reality Sandbox, which demonstrated terrain mapping and satellite imagery interactively. We learned about ISRO’s launch vehicles including PSLV, GSLV Mk III, and HRLV.
The tour introduced us to iconic satellites like APPLE, ARYABHATA, GSAT-9, GEOSAT, and IRNSS-1H/NVS-01. We also explored ISRO’s international collaborations with Oman, and discussed the impact of private players like SpaceX. The scientist emphasized the collaborative nature of satellite missions across Engineering disciplines. This multidisciplinary teamwork is vital to mission success. The visit was both educational and motivational, inspiring us as future Engineers. It gave us a glimpse into the future we hope to shape.
