Math Horizon club celebrated the National Mathematics Day on 24th January 2017
On the occasion of 129th birthday(Dec 22nd ) of an unparalleled genius and a self taught mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan ,the Math Horizon club of Basic sciences dept. celebrated the National Mathematics Day on 24th January 2017. The function was inaugurated with an invocation and welcome speech. The importance of the day was addressed by Dr.Manjunatha ,Principal NHCE. The applications of Mathematics in real life was highlighted by Dr.Srinivasa G , HOD-Mathematics. With the introduction of life history of Srinivasa Ramanujan and the importance of mathematics projected by students , the program continued to enhance the analytical ability of the graduates by conducting quiz competition which was designed and hosted by the quiz master Mr. Manoj Gowda (G-sec ,Mech).
The program concluded with a great enthusiasm from the participants and the audience of NHCE. The prize for the quiz was bagged by Mr.Toshbir Singh (C-sec,CSE) .
